Verse 3
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
True beauty should not be our external adornment. It is so easy to get caught up in the fashions of today, we have to have certain name brands, look a certain way, be a certain size, it can go on and on. But is that what really makes us beautiful? Our outward dress needs to reflect who we are in Christ. What we wear reflects our heart.
1 Timothy 2:9a
In like manner also, that woman adorn themselves in modest apparel

True beauty should come from our inward adornment. God created each of us and is concerned about our heart.
1 Peter 3: 4
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

We need to adorn our self spiritually. The clothing which makes a christian women truly attractive is the beauty of the hidden person. God considers precious the jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit. A meek and quiet spirit comes with a growing relationship with Christ. Truly beautiful christian women are set apart from this world.
When we think about how much time each day that we spend on adorning the outside of our body, if we would spend that much time on adorning our spirit how different our lives would be.

Proverbs 31:30
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord,
she shall be praised.
