{Planting}

The sun is shining and I am getting anxious to start some seeds.  Our predicted last frost date for this area is May 17-23.  It is a bit to early for me to start my seeds.  I have been going through my seeds to see what will be needed for this summers garden.  In a couple of weeks there will be some plants that can be started.

It may not be time to start planting seeds for the garden, but there is a different kind of seed that I can be planting.  What kind of seeds am I planting for the future?  If I am living for the Lord I am planting an example for my children, grandchildren and others who know me.  These are the most important seeds for me to be planting.

In Psalms 1 it tells us that if we delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night, we shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season.   Psalms 92:12-15 tells us that the righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall bring forth fruit in old age.

When I read Psalms 92:15  To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him...this is the seeds that I want to be planting in my life for my family and friends to see.

Enjoying the sun today and my grandsons.

Please pray for our neighbors daughter, they are expecting their fifth child and having many complications.  Saturday night she was admitted to the hospital because her water broke.  If the baby comes at this time the doctors feel it can not survive.  God is in control.

Interesting Day

Got a little taste of living off grid last night and today.  You know how you are suppose to be ready in case of an emergency~well we weren't.  At least in the water department!  Last night our well decided to stop working.  Thankfully we have very sweet neighbors who let us get water from them, thanks Bob and Linda!  My husband brought a part home after work today that he was hoping was the problem, but when he hooked it up it blew the fuse right away.  It's the pump,  so off to call the well company.

Pulling the pump

Pump is out!

New pump is in.

We have water!

{Scrapbook Fun}

This past weekend I was able to get together with some friends for some scrapbooking and card making.
 We met on Friday afternoon and into the evening at a friends home.  There was plenty of good food and fellowship.  We returned Saturday morning for an all day session of scrapbooking, fellowship, and treats.  Later in the afternoon our husbands joined us for pizza.  After they left we did some more scrapbooking.  It was so much fun to have time set aside to work on our crafts, some accomplished more than others, but we all had a good time!

(I'm in the pink)

Some of us worked on our scrapbooks and others made cards.   It was fun to see each others projects.

The evening was ended with chocolate treats and a devotional that encouraged us to use our talents for the Lord.  The Lord gives each of us special talents that we need to use for His glory.  The little things that we do for someone can mean so much to them, sending a card, making cookies, a phone call.  These things can bring such joy to someone in need.

Proverbs 18:24
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

What a blessing all of these ladies are.  Christian fellowship is so sweet.

All of the schools are closed today, we are digging out from the storm!

{A Bit of Spring}

Looking out the window this Sunday you would not think spring is
less than a month away.  They are forecasting 8" to 12" of snow.

In my kitchen I have a touch of spring!

These are some tulips that I forced in an old coffee pot.  I filled the pot a little over one
half full of small stones, set the bulbs on top of them and added water up to the bottom of
the bulbs.   I am enjoying the touch of spring on this snowy day!

Psalm 100

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is
God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves: we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving , and unto his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Have a wonderful Lord's Day!

{Happy Valentines Day}

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten son.

There is no greater love than this.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

I made these sweet treats for my sweetheart.
You can go to The Harwards blog for the recipe.

My neighbor made brownies like this Saturday night for a valentines gathering using Reese's Pieces Miniature Cups.  Found almost the same idea on  Julie's blog using peanut butter and chips.  I used my brownie recipe instead of a mix and chocolate and vanilla chips.
