Easy Easy Yogart

I have always wanted to try and make yogurt. Last Wednesday I saw a yogurt recipe that Cindy at Farm Girl Cyn had used. This recipe is so easy and it turns out great.

Last night we took about 2 cups of the yogurt, 2/3 cups frozen strawberries thawed and some ice and made a smoothie. This is sooooo good! Will be making more of this yogurt.

Yogurt Recipe

8c. whole milk
1/2 c. organic yogurt for your starter
crock pot & big bath towel

Put the milk in your crock pot with lid on and turn on low for 2- 1/2 hours.

Unplug crock pot and let sit undisturbed for 3 more hours.

Take out 2 cups of the milk and stir into it the 1/2 cup organic yogurt. Mix this mixture back into the milk in the crock pot.

Put lid back on and wrap the crock pot with a thick bath towel (I used two as our house is a little colder at night) let sit for at least 8 hours. (make sure and save out 1/2 cup for your next batch)

This yogurt is not as thick as store yogurt but soooo good~believe I have mentioned that before.

We are getting some snow again today, not anything like some places have been getting. We are suppose to get 3 to 5 inches. Yesterday it was snowing such big beautiful flakes, they always make me think of Christmas. It is always so pretty when every thing is white again after a fresh snow. We have not had near the snow we usually get this winter and it has not been as cold. Makes the winter seem shorter, I'm thinking spring can't be to far away!

It's time to go clean my oven, decided today was a good day to get that job done, then I have a wall hanging to work on.

Have a good afternoon!

Ooh! SO glad you tried it and liked it! I will have to try your smoothie idea...I think I have a bag of organic frozen fruit from Costco buried somewhere in the freezer!

I make yogurt too, but with a different method. We too like to make smoothies with strawberries and yogurt.
